NACJB/NACLB welcome applications for the 2024/2025 performance year from students 20 years of age or younger (as of January 1, 2025) on the following instruments:

Alto Saxophone

Tenor Saxophone

Baritone Saxophone

Trumpet

Trombone

Guitar

Drums

Auditions will occur in the third week of September, at Nepean HS (dates and times TBA).  Audition music will be available about a week before the auditions begin.  You will have the opportunity to demonstrate improvisational skill if you so choose.  If you are interested in auditioning for the NACJB/NACLB program, please register at this link.

1. Please prepare all of the required material for your instrument (The audition piece wil be posted on this page on Friday September 13) . You will also be asked to perform a sight reading piece as well as a chromatic scale from the lowest note to the highest note that you can play to demonstrate your range (not required for drummers).

2. To demonstrate tone quality, power and range prepare a long tone scale.

3. Drummers will be asked to play a variety of grooves in addition to the prepared pieces and sight reading.

Should you wish to demonstrate your ability to improvise, please prepare one of the following standard tunes:

Please note that you are not required to improvise during the audition.
